Code of conduct for the Facial and Rhinoplasty Symposium

Meetings Code of Conduct

The Aesthetic Society is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and staff. All participants, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, staff, and volunteers, are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to all Aesthetic Society meeting-related events, including those sponsored by organizations other than The Aesthetic Society but held in conjunction with Aesthetic Society events, in public or private facilities.

Expected Behavior

  • Treat all participants, attendees, staff, and vendors with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative in your communication and actions.
  • Communicate openly with respect for others, critiquing ideas rather than individuals.
  • Avoid any personal attacks directed toward other attendees, participants, staff, and suppliers/vendors.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.
  • Respect the rules and policies of the meeting venue, hotels, Aesthetic Society-contracted facilities, or any other venue.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Physical or verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
  • Examples of unacceptable behavior include, but are not limited to: verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations; threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, Aesthetic Society staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
  • Disruption of presentations or other events organized by The Aesthetic Society at meeting venues, hotels, or other Aesthetic Society-contracted facilities.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, you are encouraged to report it to Aesthetic Society staff by speaking with the staff member on-site at the registration desk or by emailing ethics@theaestheticsociety.org.

Anyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety is advised to locate a house phone and ask for security, or call 911.

Consequences

  • Individuals who are asked to stop any unacceptable behavior are expected to comply immediately.
  • The Aesthetic Society staff (or their designee) or security may take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund.
  • The Aesthetic Society reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting.

Liability Waiver

By registering for and attending an Aesthetic Society meeting, you agree to the following: I understand that participation in the Aesthetic Interactive: Facial and Rhinoplasty Symposium comes with inherent risks. I fully accept all such risks and take full responsibility for my participation. I release and hold harmless The Aesthetic Society, as well as their board members, officers, employees, agents, and other participants, from any claims for injuries, losses, or damages arising out of or related to my participation.

Photography/Recording Policy

The Aesthetic Society reserves the right to use photographs and recorded content from the symposium in its educational and promotional materials. By attending the event, you grant The Aesthetic Society the right to use your image and voice in such materials. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify the staff at the registration desk.
